Today’s Image of the Day from NASA Earth Observatory helps put the magnitude of the Rhine-Meuse-Scheldt delta into perspective.

The convergence of three important rivers form the delta, which serves as an entrance to Germany and Central Europe from the North Sea. Located along the southern coast of the Netherlands, the delta contains many major ports and has huge economic significance.
