Today’s Image of the Day from NASA features Aurora Australis, or the southern lights.

The best view of the aurora is from over the southeast Tasman Sea near southern New Zealand.

This photograph is one of a series of images captured by an Expedition 29 crew member while onboard the International Space Station (ISS).
