Today’s Image of the Day comes from the NASA Earth Observatory and features a look at wildfires blowing smoke over the coast of Australia’s Northern Territory.

Wildfires like these are common this time of year, as the Northern Territory dry season typically lasts from April to December.

This image was captured on June 5, 2018 by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on board the Aqua satellite.
