Mega iceberg released 152 billion tons of fresh water
A new study has revealed that the equivalent of 61 million olympic-sized pools of fresh water were released into the seas near South Georgia when "mega" iceberg A68A melted over three months from 2020 to 2021.  In July 2017, the iceberg broke off the Larsen-C Ice Shelf on the Antarctic Peninsula and began an incredible 4,000 kilometer journey across the Southern Ocean over threw and a half years.
