Narcissus poeticus subsp. verbanensis belongs to the group of bulbous and tuberous plants. Narcissus poeticus subsp. verbanensis was already described and the name validly published by William Herbert. It was Peter Derek Sell, however, who reclassified it into todays valid botanical systematics in 1996. Narcissus poeticus subsp. verbanensis is a subspecies in the genus Narcissus which contains approximately 144 to 197 species and belongs to the family of the Amaryllidaceae (Amaryllis Family). Narcissus poeticus subsp. verbanensis has simple leaves that are basal. The leaves are linear and entire. Narcissus poeticus subsp. verbanensis produces solitary daffodil-shaped flowers from April to May. Narcissus poeticus subsp. verbanensis is native to Switzerland and northern Italy. The plants prefer a sunny situation on fresh to moist soil. The substrate should be sandy loam. They tolerate temperatures down to -35°C.
