Lannea schweinfurthii

Description

Lannea schweinfurthii is a deciduous shrub, or more frequently an irregularly branched tree with a spreading rather open crown and drooping branches; it can grow from 3 - 22 metres tall The tree supplies a number of commodities that are used by the local population including an edible fruit, a dye, fibre, useful timber and a number of medicinal applications. It is also sometimes grown as a live hedge.
