Description

Trachymene coerulea, commonly known as blue lace flower, belongs to the group of annual and biennial plants. Trachymene coerulea is a species in the genus Trachymene which contains approximately 1 to 105 species and belongs to the family of the Apiaceae (Carrot Family). The plants reach heights of 40 to 60 centimetres. Trachymene coerulea has bluish green, ternate leaves that are alternate. The leaflets are linear. Trachymene coerulea produces umbels of light-purple five-stellate flowers from July to September. Trachymene coerulea is native to West Australia.The plants prefer a sunny situation on dry to moderately moist soil. They tolerate temperatures down to -7°C (USDA zone 9).
