(Aspidosperma triternatum)
It is a medium tree,10 to 12 m high,with cylindrical stem,straight,with a diameter of 30 to 35 cm,with gray to brown bark,smooth in young specimens,but deeply fissured longitudinally in the elderly.The branches are greyish,unarmed,and stiff.The leaves are persistent,glabrous,subcoriaceous,arranged oppositely or in verticilos trimers.The hermaphrodite flowers are arranged in cimosas inflorescences,with a length of 1 to 3 cm.The fruit is a 3 to 5 cm long follicle containing 6 to 12 seeds,which are subcircular,and are surrounded by a membranous wing.
