Description

Pentarrhinum Somaliense is an oleand vegetable species first described by Nicholas Edward Brown,and became known as S.Liede.Pentarrhinum Somaliense is part of the genus Pentarrhinum and the family oleanderväxter.No subspecies are listed in the Catalog of Life.Plants erect or climbing,1?4 m high.Leaf-blades 3?8.5 x 2?6 cm,ovate,acute to acuminate;petiole 1.5?4.5 cm long.Inflorescences 10?15-flowered;peduncles 1?3 cm long;pedicels 4?7 mm long.Flowers aromatically scented.Corolla-lobes c.3.5 x 1 mm,yellowish,patent,hooded,obtuse.Corona white to purplish-red when old,c.3 mm high,equalling the gynostegium in height,only basally fused;staminal parts laminar,3-fid,central lobe internally with two strong folds,apically erect.Gynostegium c.1 x 2 mm,on top of a c.2.2 mm high stipe.Stigmatic head white,c.1.2 x 0.3 mm,flat to raised on top.Follicles one per flower,5?6 cm long,obtuse,sparsely covered with 3?5 mm long protuberances.
