“Pet poisonous” – Toxic parts: berries Ilex colchica, commonly known as Colchic- or Black Sea holly, is a species of holly native to Bulgaria, Turkey and the Caucasus. The specific epithet colchica, referring to Colchis, an ancient kingdom and region on the coast of the Black Sea centered in present-day western Georgia. Ilex or holly, is a genus of 400 to 600 species of flowering plants in the family Aquifoliaceae, and the only living genus in that family. The species are evergreen or deciduous trees, shrubs, and climbers from tropics to temperate zones worldwide.
