Description

“Pet poisonous” – Toxic parts: berries The mulato palo or palo blanco ( Ilex kunthiana ) is a species of the family Aquifoliaceae , found in Costa Rica , Panama , Colombia , Venezuela and Ecuador . Reaches 3 m in height. Smooth white bark. Ramoso Leaves grouped towards the apices of the branches, thick, coriaceous, oblong-elliptic, serrated with ridges, glossy, lower glaucous, rough in the limb of the leaves. Flower with very short pedicels, grouped on the base of three, sepals green and white petals. Ilex or holly, is a genus of 400 to 600 species of flowering plants in the family Aquifoliaceae, and the only living genus in that family. The species are evergreen or deciduous trees, shrubs, and climbers from tropics to temperate zones worldwide.
