Description

The palm reaches a stature height of 5 to 7 meters, in exceptional cases to 25 meters. The trunk diameter is 20 to 35 cm. It carries 20 to 30 (up to 35) pinnate leaves which are 2 to 3 meters long. The individual leaflets are irregularly arranged on the axis in groups and point in different directions. The inflorescences stand between the leaves. The male flowers have flat petals and six to nine unconstricted stamensThe fruit stands can reach a length of 1 to 1.5 meters. Between June and November, it produces a high number of fruits that are edible and also feed many animals
