Description

Corypha lecomtei is a species of plant in the family Arecaceae. It is only growing in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. It is threatened by habitat loss. Corypha lecomtei is one of the species used to make palm-leaf manuscripts This palm species has a trunk 3.5–4 metres (11–13 ft) high, and the leaves are even larger, with petioles up to 8 metres (26 ft) long and the leaf blade of 3.5–4 metres (11–13 ft) in length. The plant flowers and fruits only once, at between 15 and 30 years of age, and then dies
