Begonia guatemalensis is a plant species of the Begoniaceae family . This begonia comes from Guatemala . The species was described in 1853 by Henri Guillaume Galeotti (1814-1858), following the work of Louis Van Houtte (1810-1876). The specific epithet guatemalensis means "from Guatemala".
