(Epimedium davidii)
Epimedium davidii is a species of herbaceous plant in the Berberidaceae family, native to the mountains of southern China (Yunnan, Sichuan). Epimedium davidii is a species of herbaceous, perennial plant, 30-50 cm tall, with a large creeping rhizome 5. The basal, cauline-like leaves are compound, with (3 or) 5 leaflets, dark green, ovate or broadly ovate, 6-12 cm by 2-5 cm, leathery or papery, reverse glaucose papillose, margin spinose serrated. The flowering stem has two opposite trifoliate leaves and bears a panicle of 6-24 flowers, 15-25 cm. Epimedium davidii is distributed in the central-southern Chinese provinces: Yunnan and Sichuan 5. It grows in forests, thickets, near streams and in crevices, between 1,400 and 3,000 m altitude.
