(Mezobromelia capituligera)
Mezobromelia capituligera is a plant species in the genus Mezobromelia. This species is native to West Indies (Cuba, Hispaniola, Jamaica, Trinidad, Leeward Islands) and northern South America (Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru). Mezobromelia is a genus of the botanical family Bromeliaceae, subfamily Tillandsioideae. The genus name is for Carl Christian Mez, German botanist (1866-1944). The species of this genus are rare in cultivation. They are native to the West Indies and northern South America.
