Description

Neobuxbaumia tetetzo, is a phanerogamous species belonging to the Cactaceae family. It is originally from Mexico where it is located in Oaxaca and Puebla. Neobuxbaumia tetetzoIt has a columnar growth with the majority of branched stems and reaches a size of up to 15 meters in height and up to 70 centimeters in diameter. The shoots are grayish green with 8 to 12 meters long and have a diameter of 18 to 30 centimeters. The 15 to 20 blunt ribs are slightly rounded. Most areolas with only one central spine that is blackish and up to 5 cm long. The 8 to 13 radial spines are blackish and have a length of 1 to 2 centimeters. The bell-shaped flower or funnel appears near the tips of the buds, are whitish in color and measure 5 to 6 cm long. Its pericarp and flower tube are full of potholes, scales, wool and hairs. The fruits are green egg-shaped and up to 4 cm long and have thorns.
