(Stenocereus fimbriatus)
Stenocereus fimbriatus grows in tree form with numerous kandelaberartig branched shoots and attains heights of 8 to 12 meters. A distinct tribe is formed. The upright to somewhat spreading shoots have diameters of up to 30 centimeters. There are nine to twelve distinct ribs , which are up to 1.5 centimeters high. The mostly three gray middle spines have a darker tip and are up to 4 centimeters long. One of them is longer than the rest. The usually ten edge thorns are greyish. The flowers open at night and are 7 to 9 centimeters long. They are greenish on the outside to some purple and white on the inside. The spherical, red fruits reach a diameter of up to 5 centimeters. They are filled with thorns, which fall off at maturity. The pulp is red.
