Coastal Sand Frostweed

Description

Perennial herb with several flowering stems up to six inches long, arising from a subterranean woody stem. Flowering stems often partly buried by sand, spreading to erect, bearing several narrow leaves less than an inch long. One to several bright yellow flowers occur at the top of each stem, 3/4 inch across, with about 25 stamens. Most of the plant is densely covered with very short whitish hairs.
