Mexican Clammyweed

Description

Clammyweeds are sticky and strong smelling. Their upright stems are heavily leafed, each leaf being divided into 3 segments. The flowers are clustered at the end of the stems. The petals are white, erect, 5/8-1 1/8 inches long, and notched at the tip. There are as many as 28stamens,-3/4-2 inches long, with purplish anthers. The-stamens-are longer than the petals, giving the-flower-a striking deep purple and white effect.-Fruit-pods are erect, 2-3 inches long (248).
