Description

Erect, much branched shrub, 0.3–1.3 m high; branchlets finely hirsute. Leaves spreading to ( horizontal, lanceolate to rarely elliptic, 5.5–14.0 mm long, 1.5–3.5 mm wide; apex pungent; margins entire to slightly recurved; upper surface dull green, lower surface waxy white with branching striate veins; petiole 0.5–1.0. Flowers 3–6 per spike, on first year wood; bracteoles 0.8–1.0 mm long. Sepals 1.25–1.6 long. Corolla tube green or with reddish tinge at tips, tube 1.5–2.5 mm long; lobes 1.0–1.2 mm long. Ovary 4- or 5-locular. Fruit ovoid-globose, 3–5 mm diameter, pearly white, translucent.
