Description

Euphorbia paniculata , is a species of fanerógama pertaining to the Euphorbiaceae family. It is a perennial plant that reaches a size of up to 150 cm in height, glabrous or almost. Woody strain, thickened. Stems erect, ± woody at the base; those of the year, with up to 11 fertile lateral branches. Leaves 25-100 x 10-25 mm, from elliptical to lanceolate, sessile, in general amplexicaules -especially those of the fertile branches-, with serrate or entire margin, acute or mucronate, glabrous or puberulous, green. Pleocasium with 5 (6) rays, up to 75 mm, 2-4 times bifurcated; pleocasial bracts 15-75 x 16-30 mm, ovate, orbicular or lanceolate, entire; orbicular or trilled, free bracts. Ciatio2-3 mm, glabrous; nectaries not appendiculate, transversally elliptical, whole, yellow. Fruit (3.2) 4-4.5 x 4-4.5 mm, spherical or subspherical, glabrous or with scattered and deciduous hairiness, slightly sulcate, with erect pedicel of up to 4 mm; rounded cocci, with hemispheric warts and preferably dorsal warts. Seeds 2-4 x 1.9-2.8 mm, ellipsoid, smooth, black or dark, ± bright; caruncle 0.6-1 x 0.4-1 mm, transversally ellipsoidal, lateral.
