Description

Euphorbia ritchiei, is a species of flowering plant belonging to the Euphorbiaceae family. It is native to Kenya. It is a perennial plant with a succulent stem and inflorescences in cyathios. It has a thick fleshy rhizome, stems erect, decumbent or rhizomatous, up to 40 cm long, 1.5-3 cm thick, mosaic, with prominent conical tubercles bearing leaves usually in 5 spiral series. It is found on the steep rocky slopes; in grasslands of rocky slopes, volcanic crater slopes, betweenlava rocks; at an altitude of ± 1150-1300 meters. Close species to Monadenium guentheri. Euphorbia ritchiei was described by ( PROBally ) Bruyns and published in Taxon 55:415. 2006.
