Description

Chasmanthe aethiopica, is a species herbaceous and perennial belonging to the family of the Iridaceae. It is an ornamental plant of South African origin. Ch.aethiopica is an ornamental plant of South African origin that can be found naturalized on the margins of some roads, having an invasive character. It is differentiated by its unilateral spikes normally simple and erect. The flowers are zygomorphic and have a perianth of red and yellow, formed by six pieces that join forming a basal tube of about 2-3 cm in length and free in its upper part, being one of them larger.
