Description

Moraea serpentina (snake garden) is a plant and geophyte that belongs to the genus Moraea and is part of the fynbos and Succulent Karoo The species is native to the Northern Cape and occurs throughout the Namaqualand and Clanwilliam areas on sandy plains, as well as Bushmanland and the Karoo. The plant is a perennial herb that grows up to 20 cm tall, with a stem tuber and stems that usually branch off. The flowers are white and yellow, sometimes slightly pink or light purple.
