Description

Mentha asiatica is a plant commonly known as Asian mint. This plant belongs to the genus Mentha. Min (English: mint, from Greek:, translit. mintha; scientific name Mentha) is a genus of plants in the family Lamiaceae. The division of species in the genus Mentha does not have clear boundaries. According to sources, the number of species can range from 13 to 24. Frequent natural crossings allow the distribution of several species to overlap. Many hybrid varieties and cultivars of this plant are known. Min plants are widely and evenly distributed in Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and North America. Most grow well in a wet environment with moist soil. Min plants can grow as high as 10–120 cm and can spread to all places, including places that are not intended for this plant. Due to these properties, min is often considered an invasive plant. Mint leaves are often used or processed as food, drinks, toothpaste, chewing gum, and candy.
