Description

Eucalyptus kingsmillii is a mallee that is native to the central area of Western Australia. The multi-stemmed or occasionally single-stemmed mallee trees typically grows to a height of 8 metres (26 ft) and has smooth, tan to cream bark on the upper parts and is rough and grey toward the base. The adult leaves are dull green to grey-green have an ovate to lanceolate shape and are 10 centimetres (3.9 in) in length and 2 cm (0.8 in) wide. It blooms between autumn and spring producing inflorescences with pink to red or rarely yellow flowers. Each inflorescence is found in umbels of three in the axils of the leaves. Buds have a globose to ovoid shape, with prominent longitudinal winges. Buds are a reddish colour with a length of up to 35 millimetres (1.38 in) and a width of 18 mm (0.71 in). Large woody fruits form later that are up 20 mm (0.79 in) in length and 45 mm (1.77 in) wide with prominently longitudinally winged ridges. The fruits contain pyramidally shaped dark grey seeds that are 4 mm (0.16 in) long.
