Silvertop Stringybark

Description

Eucalyptus laevopinea, known by the common name Silver Top Stringybark, is a tree native to eastern Australia. Occurring north from Rylstone. Mostly seen in the northern tablelands of New South Wales.A tree up to 40 metres tall. It has rough, fibrous stringy bark usually coloured grey over reddish brown. Adult leaves are 9 to 14 cm long, 1.5 to 2.5 cm wide. A dull green, the same colour above and below the leaf.Flowering is from June to August. Gumnuts are hemispherical in shape. 6 to 10 mm long, 7 to 12 mm in diameter. The disc is flat or raised. Valves either below the rim, at rim level or exserted.
