Description

Eugenia zelayensis is a species of plant belonging to the Myrtaceae family. They are trees, which reach a size of 6-15 m high; twigs densely brown-gold tomentose. Leaves elliptic or ovate-elliptic, (8.2-) 10-13.8 cm long and (2.9-) 3.3-6.5 cm wide, apex acuminate or long acuminate, base rounded, at glabrous maturity. Solitary flowers, pedicels 10-25 mm long, densely brown-gold tomentose, bractéolas separated, densely brown-golden tomentose on the outside; campanulate hypanthium, densely tomentose; wolves of the elliptic-lanceolate chalice, (3-) 4-8 mm long, densely tomentose externally. Globose fruits, 12 mm in diameter.
