Description

Kunzea rostrata is a flowering plant in the myrtle family,Myrtaceae and is endemic to an area along the south west coast of Western Australia.The robust shrub typically grows to a height of 3 metres (10 ft).It blooms between October and November producing pink flowers.Often found growing in grey sands or peaty soils along the coast in the South West region of Western Australia between Cape Naturaliste and Cape Leeuwin.The species was first formally described by Helmut Toelken in 1996 in the article A revision of the genus Kunzea (Myrtaceae) in the Journal of the Adelaide Botanic Gardens.
