Description

Marlierea is a genus of flowering plants in the myrtle family, Myrtaceae described as a genus in 1833. It is native to tropical regions of South America, the West Indies, and Costa Rica. Molecular phylogenetic analyses indicate that Marlierea may belong within the large genus Myrcia sensu lato, along with a few other closely related genera.
