Description

Bulbophyllum fascinator(Synonym; Cirrhopetalum fascinator), is a species of epiphytic orchid native to Asia. It is a small orchid that prefers the cool climate, with epiphytic habits with pseudobulbs, separated 2 to 3 cm between each one, olive green in color and bearing a single, sessile, oblong-elliptical apical leaf. It blooms in the summer and fall in a basal, erect 14 cm long inflorescence with a single flower with a lanceolate, membranous floral bract. It is found in Burma, Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam in primary montane forests at elevations of 1,000 to 2,000 meters. Bulbophyllum fascinator was described by (Rolfe) Robert Allen Rolfe and published in Botanical Magazine 134: t. 8199. 1908.
