Description

Campylocentrum aromaticum is a species of epiphytic orchid native to South America. It is an orchid with epiphytic habits, monopodial with an elongated stem, little branched, whose inflorescences grow from the opposite node to the base of the leaf stem. The flowers are small, white, with free sepals and petals, and a nectary on the back of the lip. Species belongs to the Campylocentrum section with flat leaves and pubescent ovary with short nectaries, rounded apex. It is found in Brazil and Argentina. Campylocentrum is a genus of rare orchids (family Orchidaceae) native to Mexico, the West Indies, Central America and South America. One species (C. pachyrrhizum) extends its range into Florida.
