Description

Trees,up to 15 m,DBH 35 cm;bark grayish brown;branchlets grayish green,with vertical stripes and yellowish white lenticels;except bracts on both sides,pedicels and sepals outside pilose,the whole plant is glabrous Leaf blade blade,obovate,sometimes oblong,8-22 cm long,4-13 cm wide,apically rounded or truncate,with a small tip,thinly concave,base obtuse,round or shallowly cordate;Flattened,flattened in leaf blade,lateral veins 13-19 on each side,nearly parallel,straight to leaf margin and net knot,pronate veins conspicuous,nearly parallel,connected to lateral veins;petiole ca.1.2 cm,slightly stout;Leaves fall early and remain linearly on both sides of the petiole base.Cauliflower or axillary or pedicel from 3 to 9 spikelets.It is conical,10-20 cm long;bracts ovate-triangular,Long 2.5-3 mm;male flowers: sepals oblong,2 mm long,base broad 1 mm;petals obovate,ca.1 mm,membranous,apically 3-5 teeth;filaments basally connate and surrounded by base of degenerated pistil Female flowers: sepals oblong,2 mm long,base width 1 mm;petals spatulate,ca.1 mm,membranous;pistil long 2 mm.,Ovary ovate,1 mm long,style 2,apically 2-lobed;disk-like,surrounded by ovary and ovoid and so high.Spruce ovate,7-8 mm long,4-6 mm in diam.,Black,2-loculed.Flowering from April to September,fruit in August - the following year in January.
