Description

Fargesia angustissima is a species of plants monocots of the family of Poaceae , subfamily of Bambusoideae , originally from the province of Sichuan ( China ). The species is sometimes considered a synonym of Fargesia ferax (Keng) TP Yi 3 . They are perennial bamboos , nonchalant (non-tracing), with short rhizomes , pachymorphous, whose woody stubble can reach 7 meters high and 2 cm in diameter. The inflorescence is unknown. Stubble is used to make furniture and agricultural tools. Shoots are a food source for giant pandas 3 . The plant, hardy down to -12 ° C, is grown in the West for ornamental purposes.
