Garnotia cheesemanii

(Garnotia cheesemanii)

galery

Description

Garnotia cheesemanii readily falls within the category of Critically Endangered. It has an area of occupancy (AOO) of less than 10 km2,which is in continuing decline, and is known from a single location.Furthermore, only one subpopulation (comprising seven plants) was found in 2010,and this population is threatened by the spread of Paspalum conjugatum.Even if further populations are found they are likely to be very small and threatened by an ever increasing range of weeds that are now commonly found in the cliff habitats this grass is restricted to.
