Description

A tuft- or mound-forming perennial herb. Stems are 5-15 cm long. Flower petals are white with a red stripe.On calcareous ridgetops or chalky carbonate Verde formations at 1,045 m; among pinyons at 1,830 m. Creosote bush community of the Sonoran Desertscrub, and Pinyon-Juniper Woodland of the Great Basin Conifer Woodland (Arizona Game and Fish Department 1997).
