Dionysia is a genus containing 49 species of flowering plants in the family Primulaceae. They are small, cushion-forming alpines native to mountains in central Asia. They are usually evergreen perennials with felted leaves, covered with bright yellow or pink, five-petalled flowers in spring. They are often difficult to cultivate if the correct conditions are not provided. Dionysia lurorum is a vive plant species described by Per Wendelbo in 1980. Dionysia lurorum is part of the dionysosphere family that is part of the family of vive plants . No subspecies are listed in the Catalog of Life . The synonyms Dionysia aubrietioides were based on a specimen that grew in shade, but in cultures and closer investigations it was found to be identical to Dionysia lurorum .
