Description

Rosa micrantha is a shrubof the Rosaceae family . Erect, densely branched bush , up to 1.5 m high, with hanging branches in arc. All spines equal, robust, very numerous, with insertion surface 6-12 mm long and 2-5 mm wide, curved in hook. Stems and young leaves, often with reddish hues. Vegetative leaves generally with 5-7 leaflets . Leaflets elliptic or obovate wide 1.5-3 cm long and 1-2 cm wide, narrowed at the base, doubly serrated at the edges, with numerous glands and delicate apple odor, usually quite leathery, almost glabrous on both sides. Flowers rarely solitary, usually in groups of 2-4 in umbel- type inflorescences, light pink or balnco, up to 3 cm in diameter. Floral peduncle 1-2 cm long, clearly longer than the hippophiles , provided with numerous glands. Sépalo curved backwards after flowering, at the base ovate, the exteriors of lanceolate to filamentous shape, with leaflets provided with glandular or dentate hairiness. Petals 1-1.5 cm long, usually shorter than sepals . Style long and glabrous. Fruit ovate or spherical, 1-2 cm long, leathery, and scarlet red.
