Description

Rosa sempervirens, the evergreen rose, is a plant in the family Rosaceae, a climbing perennial with very prickly stems. It grows mostly in maquis or in sheltered valleys in southern France, in the Mediterranean climate region, and was used repeatedly as parent for the hybrids produced by Henri Antoine Jacques, gardener to King Louis Philippe I of France.
