Description

Atalaya alata is a small to medium deciduous tree,with a sparsely branched crown.The composite leaf has 5-7 pairs of markedly asymmetrical folioles,often in almost sickle form.The leaf margins are notched,particularly along the top edge.The flowers are small and white and appear in September to November.The fruit has three wings,1 or 2 of the wings often being partially developed.The ripe fruit is produced in autumn.
