The branches are ascending, in diffusion, they are not leafy and they are glabrous. The bark is thin and light brown. The branches are also hairless or they may be sparse and spongy, grayish brown. The leaves are along the branches, the leaf blade is firmly membranous, 5 - 14.5 centimeters long and 2 to 5 centimeters wide, is narrow elliptical to lanceolate, pointed forward, at the base obtuse to cuneate. The inflorescences are terminal, compact and not branched. They are composed of 3 to 15 fragrant flowers that are initially blue, but fade after white. Rarely the inflorescences are reduced to only one or two flowers. The fruit is a capsule 8 mm long and 6 to 8 millimeters wide.
