Description

Amblystegium, im Deutschen auch manchmal Stumpfdeckelmoose genannt, ist eine Gattung von Moosen. The plants of the genus grow with irregularly branched stems in soft to moderately robust lawns. The leaves are only 0.5 to 1.5 mm long and lanceolate to the base of the heart-shaped / egg-shaped form. A leaf ridge always exists and reaches at least into the anterior half of the leaf, often also into the leaf tip. The cells of the leaf blade are stretched and two to six times as long as wide. The leaf wing cells are not particularly differentiated. The cylindrical capsule is somewhat curved. There is a narrow point under the capsule opening.
