(Pohlia ludwigii)
Shoots of P. ludwigii are quite tall - typically 2-4 cm, but sometimes considerably taller - forming tufts or patches, green above and reddish below, with red stems. Most leaves are wide relative to their length (about 1 mm wide and 1.8-2 mm long), and the base forms wide wings well down the stem. Pear-shaped, pendulous capsules are quite rare, forming in late summer.
