Description

They are large, thick and loose lawn-forming moss plants with elongated, often hanging secondary stems, which are irregularly branched. A central strand in the cross-section of the stem is missing or is only indicated. The concave leaves are broadly ovate to ovoid-lanceolate, pointed to pointed and pointed at the tip. The laminates are lengthened, smooth and more or less spotting. In the leaf wings are round-square to elliptical cells. In addition to the simple leaf rib, which ends in the upper half of the leaf, a few short secondary ribs are often present at the base of the leaf.Antitrichia species are diocesan .
