Description

Thamnobryum neckeroides (Hook.) E. Lawton (Neckeraceae) is newly reported from the Czech Republic, Germany, and Italy in Europe, from China, India, and South Korea in Asia, from several states of Eastern North America and from New Zealand in the Southern Hemisphere. Description, illustrations, and diagnostic characters of the species, with notes on the habitat and a list of new country or state records, are presented. Thamnium laevinerve Broth. is newly synonymized with Thamnobryum neckeroides; both taxa and Porotrichum obtusatum Lindb. & Arnell are lectotypified.
