Nephrolepis averyi is a spearbrown plant species described by Richard S. Nauman . Nephrolepis averyi is part of the genus Nephrolepis and the Nephrolepidaceae family Nephrolepis is a genus of about 30 species of ferns in the family Nephrolepidaceae (or Dryopteridaceae in some classifications). Commonly referred to as the macho fern, Nephrolepis is the only genus in the family Nephrolepidaceae which is part of the eupolypods I clade of the order Polypodiales, in the class Polypodiopsida.
