Description

Cheilanthes is a genus with 584 species 2 of ferns belonging to the family Pteridaceae . They have a cosmopolitan distribution in warm, dry and rocky regions, often increasing in small cracks in the heights of the cliffs . The majority are small, resistant and perennial. The leaves, often thickly covered with hair. Many of them are desert ferns and revive with the entry of moisture. At the ends of the veins are sporangia , spores or bearing structures, are protected by the margins of the leaf, which are curved over them.
