Description

Epiphytic or on rocks. Rhizome up to 3(�5) mm in diameter when dried, widely creeping, frequently producing short lateral axes with fronds variously spaced and with brown peltate broadly ovate, obtuse, entire rhizome-scales up to .5 mm long, darker around the point of attachment. Frond erect, seldom arching, firmly herbaceous to thinly coriaceous; stipe articulated in the upper half, stramineous, pale to dark brown, up to 6 cm long, matt, glabrous to shortly ferruginous pubescent; lamina up to 40 cm long, 7 cm wide, deeply -pinnatifid, lanceolate-acute to -attenuate in outline; basal pinnae somewhat or not reduced; pinnae up to 9.5 cm long, .8 cm wide, very narrowly oblong-attenuate, very broadly cuneate at the base, deeply pinnatifid into narrowly oblong, obtuse, entire lobes, thinly pubescent on both sides or � glabrous above save for costa; lobes up to 9 mm long, .5 mm wide, nearly always with submarginal white dots above (hydathodes with lime secretion); rhachis stramineous to dark brown, densely pubescent with minute white hairs. Sori � mm in diameter, up to 9 per lobe, circular, borne about halfway between the costules and the margin; indusium 0.6 mm in diameter, glabrous, entire.
