Today’s Video of the Day from NASA Goddard describes how Earth’s warming trend is influencing major weather events such as hurricanes, wildfires, and droughts.
Unprecedented heat in the atmosphere, on land, and in the ocean will extend far beyond 2020, which is now ranked as the hottest year on record.
Global warming is the result of heat-trapping greenhouse gases that have been released in the atmosphere as a result of human activities. These gases remain in the atmosphere for a long time, which means that the consequences, such as record-breaking storms and wildfires, will persist.
